KdG was engaged to provide Interior Design services for the renovation of the 48 penthouse suites including 27 junior suites, 17 VIP suites, and 4 Presidential suites in the 1,000-room hotel tower which suffered severe damage from Hurricane Katrina. The project construction schedule was fast-paced and allowed nine months for the design and renovation work. All rooms were successfully gutted, built out, and furnished in that time period as a result of the close coordination performed by the design team. The new rooms boast expansive living, bedrooms, and bathroom spaces with rich appointments and luxurious details. Natural stone and glass tile adorn the floors and walls at the entry, powder room, wet bar, and master bathroom. Particular attention was paid to the decorative lighting and expressive artwork within each room. Amenities in each room were extensive and included: 52″ flat-screen televisions in the living spaces and bedrooms, three LCD TV’s in each master bathroom, iPod docking stations built into the walls of each room which tied to a state of the art sound system, wine refrigerators at the wet bars, and luxurious bedding and linens. The luxury items were selected to pamper each guest.
