KdG, founded 50 years ago, is a professional design firm specializing in architectural, interior design, civil engineering, and land surveying services. Our firm began by providing design services for commercial and retail projects. In 1989, we entered the gaming and hospitality market sectors, and, in the past 35 years, we have become one of the leading gaming and hospitality design firms in the United States.

In July of 2022, KdG was acquired by Shive-Hattery, a full-service architecture and engineering design firm based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Shive-Hattery was founded in 1895, has over 500 employees and 16 offices located throughout the upper Midwest, Arizona, and Washington. The combination of our two firms merges the experience, talent and skill of a boutique hospitality design firm with the vast resources, skill and talent of a large, multi-discipline design firm serving many market areas over a large portion of the country. We began working jointly on projects well in advance of the decision to merge and this working relationship cemented the idea that our two firms shared significant cultural values and were very synergistic in our values and philosophies.
