GCS Ballpark – Sauget, Illinois

The GCS Ballpark (formerly GMC Stadium) hosts the Gateway Grizzlies, a Frontier League baseball team.  The stadium, which was designed to be reminiscent of an earlier era in baseball, has a seating capacity of approximately 5,000. Half of the seating is fixed chair-backs with grass seating available in the outfield. The stadium facility houses full-service concessions similar to those in major league stadiums. It also contains an office section complete with ticket operations, management space, and a gift shop. The stadium is constructed of a mixture of brick and concrete masonry, accented with limestone ornamentation and banner flags. The stadium also features an upper-level covered suite area that seats up to 250 people and includes the press box. There is a 30-foot wide concourse that wraps around right field and connects to the outfield seating. KdG also performed the design and selection of the 80-foot tall light tower and the complete design of the sound system for the entire stadium.
