The Kirkwood Hotel is a 70-room boutique hotel affiliated with Kirkwood Community College and located on the college campus. It is a unique teaching hotel operation staffed by both students and professionals as part of the hospitality and restaurant management program offered at the college. The hotel caters to guests of the college, area businesses, and the local community. Amenities include an auditorium, meeting rooms, and a full-service restaurant and bar with exhibition cooking. The room design has an international flavor and incorporates a wide variety of room types, including 3 Presidential suites, 3 Executive suites, 17 standard king guest rooms, 15 standard queen guest rooms, 15 deluxe king rooms, and 18 deluxe queen rooms. State of the art smart room technology was incorporated as well as LCD televisions and wireless internet. Rich furnishings, plush bedding, and European inspired white marble bathrooms reinforce the boutique hotel experience the college desired as part of the program.
